Scarborough Warehouse 7-Unit Enbridge Red Tag Clearance

Seven red-tagged gas appliances repaired, combustion tested and cleared in nine working days, so the warehouse had heat back before the first hard frost.

The Challenge

What the Building Needed

A utility safety inspection red-tagged seven heating appliances for venting, combustion air and heat exchanger concerns. The warehouse was losing heat going into November, with staff and stock on site.

Our Approach

How We Did It

  1. 01 Inspected all seven appliances the same week and wrote up each deficiency against CSA B149.1.
  2. 02 Replaced failed vent connectors, two heat exchangers, regulators and ignition controls.
  3. 03 Combustion tested and CO tested every appliance after repair, with printed results.
  4. 04 Coordinated re-inspection and Red Tag removal for all seven units.

Results

Measured Outcomes

  • All 7 appliances cleared and back in service in 9 working days
  • Combustion and CO test sheets on file for every unit
  • Insurer received a written deficiency and repair record

"They had the scope in writing the same week and every unit cleared before the cold set in. The test sheets satisfied our insurer on the first submission."
