Toronto Commercial HVAC repairs commercial heating equipment for offices, warehouses, restaurants, retail and institutions across Toronto and the GTA. That includes rooftop unit gas heat sections, hydronic and steam boilers, suspended unit heaters, infrared radiant tube heaters and make-up air units. Our gas technicians hold TSSA G1 and G2 tickets, and we are Enbridge Red Tag authorized.
Heating failures follow the thermometer. The first week below -15C brings ignition lockouts from cracked igniters and weak flame sensors, frozen condensate lines on condensing equipment, freeze-stat trips on make-up air units and short-cycling boilers. Older warehouses add venting problems and heat exchanger cracks, which turn a comfort call into a carbon monoxide risk.
Heating repairs typically cost $450 to $4,500, plus a $185 diagnostic that is waived on repairs over $750. Every gas repair ends with a combustion and CO test.
What Does Commercial Heating Repair Cover?
Rooftop gas heat sections
Igniters, flame sensors, inducer motors, gas valves, pressure switches and heat exchangers on packaged rooftop units. Furnace-style failures are covered in detail under commercial furnace repair.
Boilers
Ignition, flame safeguard, low-water cutoff, pumps and controls on hydronic and steam boilers from Lochinvar, IBC, Viessmann and Weil-McLain. See commercial boiler repair for plant-level work.
Unit heaters and radiant heaters
Reznor and Modine suspended unit heaters and infrared radiant tube heaters in warehouses, garages and loading docks.
Make-up air units
Burner, gas train and freeze-stat repairs on restaurant, industrial and parking garage MUAs. More on make-up air unit service.

| Symptom | Likely cause | Typical repair |
|---|---|---|
| Ignition lockout | Cracked igniter, weak flame sensor | Igniter or sensor, $450-$900 |
| Burner lights then shuts off | Flame sensing or venting fault | Sensor, pressure switch, vent correction |
| MUA trips in the morning | Ignition failure, freeze-stat | Ignition module, burner adjustment |
| Boiler short cycling | Controls, oversizing, low-water cutoff | Controls and settings |
| CO alarm or soot | Combustion or heat exchanger fault | Shutdown, combustion repair or replacement |
| Red Tag on appliance | Venting, gas leak, combustion air | Repair and clearance |
When Do You Need Commercial Heating Repair?
- Any gas appliance shows a lockout or will not stay lit.
- Spaces cannot hold temperature during cold weather.
- A CO alarm sounds, or you see soot or scorch marks. Evacuate and call the gas utility first.
- An appliance has been red-tagged by the utility or an inspector.
- Boilers short cycle or make banging noises.
Enbridge Red Tag Repairs
A Red Tag means an appliance has a safety deficiency. Some tags require immediate shutdown, others give a window for repair. We inspect, write up each deficiency against CSA B149.1, repair it, test combustion and coordinate clearance. Our Scarborough warehouse project cleared seven red-tagged appliances in nine working days.
