The Challenge
What the Building Needed
The chain had lost product twice in one year to freezer failures that started as iced coils and failed defrost. Each store had a different contractor history, no common records and no reliable after-hours response.
Our Approach
How We Did It
- 01 Built a single equipment inventory for all 11 stores with model, serial, refrigerant and age for every box.
- 02 Set quarterly PM: condenser coil cleaning, defrost and drain line heater checks, door gasket and heater checks, controller setpoint review.
- 03 Put every store on the 24-hour food-service priority line with a 313A mechanic on call.
- 04 Issued a written compliance log after every visit for the chain food safety file.
Results
Measured Outcomes
- 2:40 average emergency response in 2025
- Zero product loss across all 11 stores in 2025
- Iced-coil calls down sharply after the first two PM cycles
